Platelet-Rich Plasma

Onsite plasma procedure to improve chronic pain

For patients who experience chronic pain in a localized area – for example, elbows, shoulder, or hips – our doctors can use a procedure to release scar tissue and help the muscle or tendon move more freely.

The use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is used during this procedure to enhance results. For PRP, the patient’s own blood is drawn in our office and its healing material is injected in the affected area, releasing growth factors and increasing reparative cells. Several studies have demonstrated PRP injections can greatly improve function and decrease pain.
